PURPOSES SPECIFIC TO THE POSITION
To support the mission of the Cooperative by performing a wide range of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, fabrication, and upfit work on the Cooperative's fleet and auxiliary equipment.
RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to Fleet Services Foreman.
- Directs – none.
- Cooperates or coordinates with all persons both within and outside the Cooperative to effectively carry out the responsibilities of the position.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS AND DUTIES
- Requires ability to inspect, diagnose, and repair the Cooperative's fleet and other miscellaneous equipment.
- Requires ability to perform or learn to perform a wide range of fabrication, upfitting, heavy repair, and routine maintenance work.
- A high school diploma or the equivalent is preferred.
- Five years of relevant experience is preferred. Other attributes and qualifications may be considered in lieu of experience.
- Requires ability and willingness to interpret technical manuals.
- Requires ability and willingness to participate in various mentorship and training sessions.
- Requires ability and willingness to maintain a neat and organized workspace and shop.
- Requires ability and willingness to maintain proper level of commercial driver's license as prescribed by management.
- Requires ability and willingness to accurately prepare various documents, reports, and repair tickets.
- Requires some travel and commitments outside of normal business hours.
- Requires ability and willingness to work in a wide variety of environmental conditions. Work is routinely performed both in the fleet center and in the field.
- Requires ability and willingness to work in a wide variety of postures and positions, and articulate extremities into hard-to-reach positions.
- Requires ability to lift light and medium loads frequently, and heavy loads occasionally with assistance.
- Requires ability and willingness to effectively operate (or learn to operate) mobile/electronic devices and various applications.
- Requires willingness and ability to work in a constant state of alertness and focus due to performing or supervising safety-sensitive functions, or functions that affect the safety of other employees and the public.
- Assists with the routine inspections of equipment.
- Assists with maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting various inventory counts.
- Attends and actively participates in employee safety meetings and other meetings.
- Cooperates and communicates with coworkers to maintain a safe and professional workplace.
- Performs other duties as required by the position.
