PURPOSES SPECIFIC TO THE POSITION

To provide a wide range of support to the Engineering Support and Contract Services group.

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to supervisory personnel as assigned.
  • Directs – none.
  • Cooperates and coordinates with all persons, within and outside the cooperative, and with all firms, organizations, consultants, and other groups as deemed necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES

  • May assist with a wide range of duties within the Engineering Support and Contract Services group, which includes commercial and residential development design and project management, contractor procurement and contract administration, material procurement and inventory management, Geographic Information Systems and mapping maintenance. Duties will be determined based on the Cooperative's needs, workload, and the intern's aptitude.
  • May assist in the collection of field data and/or routine inspections for substation projects, transmission and distribution line projects, mapping or modeling projects, and other related or special projects.
  • May assist in preparation of easements, drawings, contracts, plans, and specifications for substation projects, transmission and distribution line projects, mapping or modeling projects, and other related or special projects.
  • May assist in maintaining and updating system engineering records, construction records, and operating records, including but not limited to maps, diagrams, reference material, equipment records, equipment settings, system computer models, construction progress reports, as-built drawings, substation and transformer data books, and inspection reports.
  • May assist in procuring and managing inventory material, including maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting various inventory counts, for substation projects, transmission line, and distribution line projects.
  • Requires ability and willingness to operate a company vehicle to perform various errands and tasks; to work in a wide variety of environmental conditions; and to lift light and medium loads frequently, and heavy loads occasionally with assistance.
  • Performs duties consistent with board policies, federal and state regulations, and established safety rules.
  • Performs other duties as requested or required by the position.
