PURPOSES SPECIFIC TO THE POSITION
To maintain a physical presence at the headquarters facilities during Cooperative office hours to enable response to service outages and system emergencies or other situations requiring dispatcher coordination.
RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to: Dispatch Coordinator
- Directs - none
- Cooperates or coordinates with all persons both within and outside the cooperative, as deemed necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
- Requires ability and willingness to participate in the dispatch on-call rotation and work extended hours, weekends, and overtime as necessary.
- Requires the ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality with employee and member information.
- Requires the ability to communicate thoughts and ideas effectively both orally and in writing.
- Requires ability to work in a dynamic environment with the ability to schedule and prioritize complex situations.
- Requires ability to work in a constant state of alertness and focus to contribute toward the safety of employees and the public.
- Experience or job-relatedness is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
- Must report in-office to corporate headquarters located in Berryville, AR.
- Requires ability to operate various technologies and systems.
- Requires ability to work in stressful situations and react appropriately to emergencies.
- Requires willingness to obtain and maintain a CPR Certification and learn other life-saving techniques.
- Requires willingness and ability to lift light and medium loads frequently and assist with heavy loads occasionally.
- Operates, monitors, updates, and responds to various computer-based systems, including outage, interactive voice management, two-way radio, automatic vehicle location, security, mapping/GIS, customer records, and other alarm systems.
- Answers telephone and contacts person "on-call" regarding outages or other personnel as required, regarding other emergencies that might arise during hours the cooperative office is closed.
- Cooperates, coordinates, and communicates with coworkers, departments within the cooperative, and other entities outside of the cooperative, including members and contractors, to ensure the proper flow of information and maintain a safe and professional workplace.
- Communicates effectively with emergency personnel outside of the cooperative.
- Requires the ability and willingness to create and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Performs all other duties of a dispatcher as needed and all other duties as assigned or required of the position.
