PURPOSES SPECIFIC TO THE POSITION

To perform dispatching functions for the Cooperative, primarily outside of normal business hours.


RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to Dispatch Coordinator
  • Directs - none
  • Cooperates or coordinates with all persons both within and outside the cooperative, as deemed necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

  • Requires ability and willingness to participate in the dispatch on-call rotation and work extended hours, weekends, and overtime as necessary.
  • Requires maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality with employee and member information.
  • Requires the ability to communicate thoughts and ideas effectively through verbal and written communication.
  • Requires ability to work in a dynamic environment with the ability to schedule and prioritize stressful, complex situations.
  • Requires ability to work in a constant state of alertness and focus to contribute toward the safety of employees and the public.
  • At least three years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Must report in-office to corporate headquarters located in Berryville, AR.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES

  • Operates, monitors, updates, and responds to various systems, including outage, interactive voice management, two-way radio, automatic vehicle location, security, mapping/GIS, customer records, and other alarm systems.
  • Answers telephone and contacts "on-call" personnel regarding outages or other emergencies as required.
  • Communicates with members (customers) to check for certain issues before dispatching personnel.
  • Ensures the proper flow of information to all parties to maintain a safe and professional workplace.
  • Communicates effectively with emergency personnel outside of the Cooperative.
  • Requires willingness to obtain and maintain first aid and CPR
  • Requires willingness and ability to lift light loads frequently, medium loads occasionally, and assist with heavy loads rarely.
  • Requires the ability and willingness to create and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Attends and participates in various meetings and training events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required of the position.
